Divide your annual base salary by the number of pay periods per year to estimate the guaranteed salary in that period.
For a flat rate, multiply eligible sales by the commission percentage. Tiered plans can pay one rate up to a threshold and another above it.
Add separately earned bonuses to estimate gross pay. If you have your pay statement, compare it with the result and review any differences.
Flat example: $30,000 in eligible sales at 10% yields $3,000 in commission. Marginal tier example: 8% on the first $20,000 plus 12% on the next $10,000 yields $2,800 in commission. Some employers instead apply a higher rate retroactively to all sales once a threshold is reached; this free calculator does not model that structure.
Salesperson salary vs. commission: Base salary provides a fixed amount; commission and bonuses vary by plan. If your pay includes a recoverable draw, accelerators, caps, splits, chargebacks, negative accrual or other contract-specific provisions, verify those separately before relying on any estimate.
